Invited to Cyprus

I was invited to Cyprus by the Constantinou Bros Hotels group to review their beautiful five-star hotel, The Asimina Suites Hotel — and of course, I jumped at the chance!

I flew from Manchester and met a few other travel agents who were travelling on the same flight. None of us knew each other beforehand, but we quickly got chatting over coffee and drinks before boarding. By the time we arrived in Cyprus, we already felt like friends.

As soon as we landed, four of us were taken straight to the hotel, where we were welcomed with champagne while checking in. It was such a lovely touch and instantly made us feel special.

First Impressions

At first, I genuinely couldn’t even find the bed because the suite was so big! There was a separate bedroom, lounge area, beautiful bathroom and a huge balcony. Everything felt luxurious and elegant.

There was also a fruit platter brought to the room, and because of the later flight, a plate of food too — another thoughtful touch.

The hotel continued to impress me throughout the entire stay. Breakfast the next morning was incredible, with so much choice and amazing quality food.

Exploring Cyprus

The trip included several excursions and experiences. One of the highlights was a wine tasting experience, which was absolutely fantastic. We also visited a beautiful mountain village for lunch, where the food just kept coming and coming!

We visited Omodos Village in Limassol, which was full of charm, character and beautiful scenery.

Later, we had some leisure time before heading to Petra tou Romiou — also known as Aphrodite’s birthplace. It was absolutely beautiful and one of those places that really takes your breath away.

The Constantinou Bros Hotels

The following day we toured the other hotels within the Constantinou Bros Hotels group, and I was genuinely impressed by all of them.

Not every property was officially five-star, but they certainly felt like it. Most of the hotels are adults-only, except for Athena Beach Hotel, which also caters for families while still offering adult-only areas.

The rooms throughout the hotels were lovely, with swim-up pools, spa facilities and plenty of different entertainment options.

Safety in Cyprus

During our stay, we attended an evening event where a tourism representative spoke about how safe Cyprus remains for visitors despite recent tensions in nearby regions.

I honestly felt completely safe throughout the whole trip. The atmosphere everywhere was relaxed, friendly and welcoming.

One thing I really liked was how straightforward the airport process was. Arrivals and departures were very quick and easy.

Staying Longer & Exploring More

I stayed on for a few extra days so I could explore more independently. We switched to self-catering during this part of the trip, which allowed us to try lots of local restaurants.

There are so many lovely places to eat, especially around the harbour areas. The seafood was incredible and reasonably priced too.

Beaches & Resorts

One thing to know is that many beaches in Cyprus are rocky rather than soft sandy beaches. There are a few sandy beaches, but you may need to travel to them.

That said, the sea itself is absolutely gorgeous — crystal clear, calm and warm. Many beaches have man-made sea barriers, which help keep the water calm and perfect for swimming.

Some other impressive hotels we saw included Olympic Lagoon Resort Paphos and King Evelthon Beach Hotel & Resort.

Weddings in Cyprus

Cyprus is incredibly popular for weddings, and I could completely understand why after visiting. There are so many beautiful hotels and venues overlooking the sea.

There are also alternative wedding venues slightly inland with stunning gardens and private settings if you prefer something different from a beachfront ceremony.

Golf in Cyprus

Something that surprised me was how good Cyprus is for golf holidays. Most people think of Portugal, Spain or Turkey for golfing breaks, but Cyprus is definitely worth considering.

We visited several golf courses, including Elea Golf Club, which was fantastic. We also visited Aphrodite Hills Golf Course, which looked amazing and has villas and apartments too.

Another great point is that they drive on the same side of the road as the UK, which makes hiring a car much easier and less stressful.
